While not legitimately haunted, the Castor Fire Hall was full of ghosts and goblins on Oct. 28.

Castor Volunteer Fire Rescue hosted its annual haunted house, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

A section of the multi-bay fire hall was converted into the haunted house; the central portion of the hall served as a warm place to wait, and grab a hot dog sponsored by Castor and District FCSS.

When going through the haunted house, people had the option of choosing their scare level; a “one” was a mild scare while a “three” was a spine-tingling fright-fest!

Not all the creepiness was in the haunted house, though; in the central bay was a living “mannequin” which succeeded in more than a few scares of his own when the curious came close.

The haunted house ran until 9:30 p.m., and, according to chief Patrick Kelly, around 170 people ended up going through.
