Happy New Year from the Castor Municipal Library. We have a lot of fun programming happening here this month so make sure to add it to your calendar!

Our next Lego Club is on Jan. 10 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Each month we’ll build something new based on a different idea or theme. January’s theme will be Outer Space and we will be building spaceships. All ages are welcome to join in on the fun! However, please note that children under six must be accompanied by an adult.

Come join us at the library on Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m. for Mom’s Night Out. The evening is for the moms who would like some personal time, to join us and learn a new skill. This month we are going to be making some DIY homestead recipes. Childcare is available for those who need it. The event cost is free, all you need to do is contact the library to register.

Based on our parenting book club from last year, we are starting a new parent and tot book club called If You Give A Kid A Book Club. This month we will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 1:45 p.m. We gather to read, snack and share our ideas. The book this month will be Frog and Toad. Contact the library to register or if you have any questions.

We will be celebrating Family Literacy Day on Friday, Jan. 26 at 3:30 p.m. here at the library. The day will feature Robert Munsch’s characters and stories. Come join us for the fun!

Red Deer Polytechnic is returning to the library again this year for some robot fun on Wednesday, Jan. 31. The first program is Trouble With Tribbles, for ages 7-10 years old from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The second program is Cybernetic Hot Hands, for ages 10-14 years old running from 1:00-2:00 pm. There are limited spots available so make sure you contact the library to put your name down to secure your spot.

You can always reach out to us at the library by calling 403-882-3999 or emailing castorlibrary@prl.ab.ca.
