The Pam Dunkle Memorial Junior Funspiel was back during the first weekend of February.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, five elementary-aged teams from Grades 4-6 were on the ice at the Castor Curling Club.

Teams came from as far away as Calgary and Edmonton.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, teams were from a little closer to home; five junior-high teams from Theresetta Catholic School in Castor, Donalda, Erskine, Coronation, and Brownfield were in attendance.

A full concession was run each day from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., which was open to the public.

Youths competed for a variety of prizes in the event.

The event is held in memory of Pam Dunkle, an avid curler and first responder who lost her battle with depression in 2017.
