The Christmas Season is a special time of year for all of us, not only because we get to spend quality time with our family and friends, but also because it allows us time to reflect on the year that has since passed.
2018 proved to be an immensely difficult year with significant financial shortfalls for many hardworking Albertans. 2019 bodes to be an even more challenging, particularly for those in the oil and gas industry, which will have a significant impact on the Drumheller - Stettler riding.
As I look back on my years as MLA, I consider myself truly blessed to have met so many spectacular people from across the province. It pains me to see the broken state our province is in and I would like to offer a word of encouragement to Albertans and assure them that the path that lies ahead is not an easy one, but one that we all must travel together.

With several rallies and protests beginning to gain momentum, I would like to encourage all Albertans to let their voices be heard but also to be courteous and respectful of others while doing so. It’s the people within this province that make it a great place to live and their unyielding devotion to the pursuit of innovation and greatness is what makes us proud to call Alberta our home.
On behalf of my family and I, we felt it was the right decision to give back a significant portion of my salary to the hard-working people of Alberta. On Dec. 18 a donation to the Salvation Army was made to perhaps bring some holiday cheer to people struggling at this time of year.
Throughout my time as MLA, I’ve always considered it to be an honour and a privilege to serve the constituency of Drumheller Stettler and the People of Alberta. On behalf of my family, my staff and myself I would like to wish everyone a very joyous, happy and safe holiday season and to remind everyone not to drink and drive.
