Byemoor Hotel is hosting a Halloween Bash on the evening of Sat, Oct. 29 with the entertainment of Mark Fecho and Heather Brown, featuring Classic Country and 50s and 60s Rock and Roll. Don’t miss the fun – come in your favourite costume to celebrate Halloween.

Endmoor Thunder hockey team is holding a fundraising bottle drive on Thu, Nov. 3 at the Endmoor Arena in Byemoor from 4 – 6 p.m.

If you are unable to make that date and would like your bottles picked up, you may contact any member or Rebecca Schofer at 403-334-2248 for pickup. If it is more convenient, you may drop bottles off at the Big Valley Bottle Depot and say they are for the Endmoor Thunder team. The young hockey players will appreciate your support.

“Get well” wishes are sent to Rod Grams who is recuperating from a knee replacement surgery he recently had at the Red Deer hospital. We hope you are running races soon, Rod.

Sympathy is extended to Michelle McCharles, Gord Borgestrom, and their girls Dustee and Abigail on the passing of Michelle’s brother Scott McCharles at the age of 39 years. Our thoughts are with Scott’s family in their sad loss.

Congratulations to former Byemoor student Ally Smyth on being selected as one of the recipients of the Fred and Freda Geuder Educational Bursary in Hanna. Ally will receive $1,500 to further her studies in Health Sciences in Nursing.

Byemoor School held its school awards program on Fri, Oct. 21 at the school. Congratulations to all the students on their achievements.

About 265 people, many from out of town, enjoyed the delicious roast beef supper in Byemoor on Oct. 22. Thanks to all those who prepared the food, donated food, served, cleaned up, donated door prizes and supported the supper.

The small community volunteers are the key to its success.

The Byemoor Hotel donated two gift certificates which were won by Gary Hutton of Hanna and Doreen Reynolds of Gadsby; $25.00 each.

Uncle Tim’s Treats ( Judy Walgenbach and family) donated a Tim Horton’s gift card, won by Ila Lunevich of Stettler.

Stetttler Sobeys donated a $50 gift card, won by Bronc Buchwitz of Byemoor .

Remember the deadline to enter in the Crib Tournament at the Endmoor Drop-In Centre is on Thu, Oct. 27. The tournament is on Thu, Nov. 3.

Only the first 32 to register will be accepted. Cost is $20 each and includes lunch. Call Doreen Nixon at 403-579-2460 or 403-740-9546 to enter.

Endiang Floor Curling Club is hosting a Cash Bonspiel on Monday, Nov. 28 at the Endiang Community Hall. The first 12 teams to register will play.

Cost is $80 per team and includes lunch and three games. Call Doug Harrold to enter your team at 250-775-1993. Entry deadline is Nov. 20.

Happy Birthday wishes are sent to Alf Woelk, 81 on Oct. 25; Al Copeland, 83 on Oct. 30 and to new senior Garnet McLearn, 65 on Oct. 30. Enjoy those government cheques, Garnet.
