Camps, triathlon and more

Castor Minor Sports is still looking for volunteers to fill casino shifts on June 2-3, 2018 at the Jackpot Casino in Red Deer. We have the following shifts open: June 2 from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.; 6:30-11:30 p.m. and 11:30-4 a.m.; June 3 from 1 – 7 p.m. and from 11:30-3 a.m.

Camp Beaver Tail

Camp Beaver Tail is back this summer. Camps will run weekly from July 9 to Aug. 31. Registration can be completed at the Castor Recreation Office. This year’s themes are:

Week 1 (July 9-13) - Little Bit of Everything; Week 2 (July 16-20) - Mini Olympics; Week 3 (July 23-27) - Mad Science; Week 4 (July 30-Aug. 3) - Sports Mania; Week 5 (Aug. 7-10); Imaginarium; Week 6 (Aug. 13-17); Girl Power/All About the Boys; Week 7 (Aug. 20-24) - Music Makers; Week 8 (Aug. 27-31) - All Around the World.

Mermaid Academy

Have you ever wanted to swim like a mermaid or merman? We are excited to announce that this year we will have a weeklong camp – Mermaid Academy – where you can learn to swim like the fishes. Classes will run Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - noon, July 30 – Aug. 3. Cost includes your mermaid fin and tail, backpack to carry it, a week of lessons and lots of fun activities. All mermaids and mermen must be going into swim kids four or higher. In order to run this program we must have a minimum of 12 registrations by May 31. Castor’s 2nd Annual Triathlon
