For fans of Paw Patrol, May 1 in Castor was a big deal. The annual Early Years Fair was hosted in the Gus Wetter School library, and Skye came in to get her picture taken with kids and adults alike. Skye was a last-minute substitution for the event as Chase, who had originally volunteered to attend, had been called away on a special mission.

The involvement of the Paw Patrol character was a highlight for the kids at an event that brought together community services from all over the County of Paintearth as a showcase of services available to parents for children between new-born and six years of age. In addition to the Paw Patrol character there was also a craft table set up.

For the parents who attended there were displays set up representing services such as speech pathology, the Early Childhood Coalition, Family and Community Support Services, and others letting parents know what services are available for their children. The Castor Volunteer Fire Department and East Central Ambulance Service also had crews and equipment on hand to show the kids.

This year the event, which has been occurring annually for several years, was organized by Elynn Schaffner and returned to Gus Wetter School after being hosted off-site last year. Elynn is in her third year as kindergarten teacher at Gus Wetter School, and can be contacted at the school for contact information of the various presenters.
