The Castor Community Lighthouse Church is holding its annual fundraising spaghetti supper and silent auction on Saturday, March 6. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and supper starts at 6 p.m.

“It’s just to get out and get to know your neighbour,” says Mandy Fuller, committee member.

“The church has been holding this spaghetti dinner for about 15 years now.”

Diners will enjoy not only spaghetti, but chocolate or carrot cake for dessert as well. Each year, as a group, the church decides where to donate the funds raised by the supper and auction.

The community group that receives the funds is usually decided after a total number has been calculated, says Fuller.

In the past, the church has donated to the fire department and the library. The dinner can bring in a couple of thousand dollars “if we’re lucky,” says Fuller.

Silent auction donations have been coming in and ticket sales are ongoing.

Tickets are available by contacting Fuller at 403-882-4114 or by stopping by the FCSS office from Monday to Wednesday. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children five to 12 and four and under are free.

The church is located on Main St. across from the town office.
