On April 9 the residents of Castor’s Paintearth Lodge were treated to some entertainment in the form of a dance recital.

Dance instructor Ashley Kuefler and her students performed their dance routines to a group of more than 50 lodge residents and community members. Ashley’s students, comprised of four separate groups, each performed two dance routines, a hip-hop and a jazz routine.

The recital was opened with a hip-hop routine performed by the three members of her adult group. The remainder of the recital was rotated between the five and under group, the six-to-nine-year-old group, and the 10 plus age group, of which there was one participant. The recital then closed with the adult group performing their jazz number. Most of the costumes worn by the students were provided by Ashley and were dance costumes she wore herself as a child.

Ashley Kuefler is a long-time area resident and has been teaching dance for the last several years in the community, first in classes at the community hall, and now in her home studio in town. Ashley is an experienced dancer having been in dance since the age of two.

Be on the look out later this summer when Ashley will be offering dance camps. Ashley will be teaching regular classes again beginning in January 2019.
