A pair of performances on Dec. 9 at Stettler’s Performing Arts Centre helped get the Christmas season into full swing!
Stettler’s choir groups The Gracenotes, Rhapsody Girls and Tiny Tenors, and the Tiny Gracenotes took to the stage for a presentation called Holiday Lights.
In addition to the three choirs, piano students of Castor’s Veronica Weber and some private vocal students also performed.
Over 90 minutes, the different choirs performed a variety of holiday favourite songs, including “Deck the Halls,” “Silent Night,” ” Noel, Noel,” and many others.
Several piano duets were also performed by Sawyer and Kaia Sylvester, Emily Simon and Lexa Mohn, Rowan Snodgrass and Simone Brugman, Rebecca Newmand and Veronica Weber, Isabella Gendre and Rheese Andersen, and Veronica Weber and Sherry Rempel.
The Gracenotes Choir is comprised of Abi Lizee, Reese LaFournie, Katie Wengryn, Simone Brugman, Leigh Boggner, Nate Lawlor, Autumn Tanner, Amy Aicken, Rheese Andersen, Isabella Gendre and Rachel Enyedy.
The Rhapsody Girls and Tiny Tenors Choir is comprised of Sawyer Sylvester, Quinn Scott, Leann Schrijver, Chloe Hemphill, RaeAnna Grey, Hayley Anderson, Leah Syson Emily Simon, Kaia Sylvester, Arya Stratulate, Neve Hegberg, Faye Keibel, and Addison Grams.
The Tiny Gracenotes Choir is made up of Brooklyn Spady, Charlie Pivert, Seth Lawlor, Finley Pivert, Andi Gillespie, Abigail Bobob, and Eliza Cox.
All choir direction and choreography is done by Rhonda Sylvester, and accompanied by Sherry Rempel.
The groups conducted two performances, a 2 p.m. show and a 7 p.m. show, both of which were well attended.
Sylvester says that while the majority of students come from the Stettler area, the current incarnation of the Gracenotes does have one Castor performer. As well, in years past she says she has had students from Coronation, Brownfield and Bashaw who have all performed as part of the choir.
