An annual tradition returned to Castor on Dec. 26.
Members of the Castor Elks came together on Boxing Day to draw the names for the annual raffle, one of the Elks biggest fundraisers of the year.
The raffle has been running since 1976 and started in conjunction with a Boxing Day dance. However, over the years the dance stopped though the raffle carried on.
Limited to 300 tickets sold every year, the first prize is $1,000, second prize is $500, and third is $300. Around $1,000 of the funds raised goes back into local community charities.
Winners of the 2022 edition of the raffle were first-prize, Mary Ann Russel; second-prize, Mike Keichinger; and third-prize, Dennis Heidecker.
