The Elks Bingo was held at the Castor Golden Circle on Wed. Jan 24. The usual crowd of around 23 people came out for an evening of bingo and conversation. The next biweekly bingo is on Wed. Feb. 7, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Coffee is free, and snacks are available at the concession.

Ben & Simon’s Pie Shoppe held a wind-up pizza party for the kids book club on Sat. Jan. 27. Over the last few months, five girls have been reading through the Warrior cat series and working on dioramas depicting parts of the book. The completed dioramas are on display at the coffee shop.

With the weather turning snowier, first a thank you to all the “snow angels” in our community who shovel and plow neighbours walks and driveways. Those that cannot physically do so really appreciate the help you give. Second, a reminder that when Main Street is being plowed and has a ridge in the middle, that the normal angle parking becomes parallel parking as there is not enough room to maneuver around parked cars otherwise.

The Alumni Game Raffle winners have been announced. Congratulations to Brian Turner - Maple Leafs Coach, Steven Shipton - Castor Player, JD Johnson - Leafs Player, and Terry O’How - Castor Coach. Thanks to the support of the community, the game and banquet tickets are sold out.
