Clearview Public Schools and Gus Wetter School have announced the addition of several new teachers joining the staff in the upcoming school year.
Teacher Angie Rhodes will be joining Gus Wetter from the Foothills School Division and taking over in the Kindergarten room.
No stranger to the area, Rhodes grew up in around Forestburg.
Rhodes is an experienced teacher with “a passion for early learning” which the division is happy to tap into.
“I am very excited about how she will continue and grow the exceptional early learning program at Gus Wetter School and support our young learners,” said Mark Siemens, Clearview’s director of human resources.
Over in the Grade One room, Brooke Weber, a recent graduate from Burman University, will be taking over.
Weber is a former Gus Wetter graduate “dedicated to building positive relationships (and) planning engaging learning opportunities” according to new Gus Wetter Principal, Jordan Rhodes, via a media release.
“I am looking forward to returning to the school I graduated from and to be joining a team of teachers who share a passion for rural education,” said Weber, in the same release.
The final staff member announced to be joining Gus Wetter School for the fall is Matthew Gelderman.
Gelderman is a recent graduate from the University of Calgary and he will be taking over as Gus Wetter’s Kindergarten to Grade 12 Physical Education instructor.
“The expertise Matthew has in Physical Education, his passion for the outdoors, and his connections to the community will all benefit Gus Wetter School greatly,” said Jordan Rhodes.
“I look forward to seeing student learning flourish through his impact.”
