After two years of delays, shutdowns and cancellations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Coronation Royal Performing Arts (CRPA) is back and ready for a full season.

CRPA did feature a shortened season in the winter and spring of 2022, once the pandemic restrictions were eased by the province. Acts included Fleetwood Mac tribute band Mac Daddy, Country act the Dirt Road angels, and Country singer Drew Gregory.

“We’re extremely excited at havinga full season this year,” said one of the event organizers, Cindy Heidecker.

To get things going, CRPA is bringing a taste of the East Coast to Coronation through the harmony of the Ennis sisters on Nov. 4.

Later on in November, a former Canadian Idol star will be taking the stage. Jean Beaupre and Lewis Frere will be coming into Coronation on Nov. 26 with with their “eclectic” vocal range.

After taking a break in December, CPRA will be back in January 2023 with Alberta-born and based Country crooner Ryan Lindsay on Jan. 14.

In February, the vocal talents, and instruments, of Ken Lavigne will be on display when he takes the stage on Feb. 3.

Finally, the season will end with a “bang” in March when a double-header comes to town.

Two acts will be taking the stage on Mar. 11 with extended sets.

Folksinger Maddie Storvold takes the stage first, then after the intermission, The Misery Mountain Boys will close out the CRPA 2022/2023 season with their “wit, humour, nostalgia, and playfulness in a blend of originals and well-known contemporary tunes.”

According to Heidecker, as has everything of late, show prices have gone up a bit for the upcoming season.

Individual tickets for the shows will be $35 for adults or $20 for students, with meal tickets costing an additional $25.

For those buying both supper and performance tickets, doors will open at 5 p.m. with with supper served at 6 p.m. For concert only ticket-holders, the music will start at 7:30 p.m. all evenings.

For those wishing to catch all five shows, savings can be had by purchasing a season ticket. Season tickets cost $125 for all five shows, a saving of $50 from when paid separately. People also have the option to buy their meal tickets in advance for $125, though there is no savings associated by doing so.

Those wanting to get meal tickets need to have them purchased at least one week prior to each show so the caterer knows how much food to prepare.

Anyone purchasing season tickets before the end of day on Sept. 30 will be entered for a chance to win a season performance or a season supper ticket.

Tickets can be purchased via e-transfer at cororoyal@gmail.com, or by cash or cheque in person at L & C bookkeeping in Coronation. E-transfer tickets will be held at the door on the night of the show.
