East Bound and Down poker rally headed to Big Valley

Drivers on the Alberta car show circuit have the opportunity to win some gas money with the second edition of the East Bound and Down poker rally.

The 2022 edition of the event will be starting at the Norseman Inn in Camrose on the morning of June 18. Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m.

Cost to enter the rally will be $20 per poker hand, buying as many as you would like.

There will be seven stops in total on the 207 kilometre journey which will wander its way through the east central region of Alberta before ending at the final stop in Big Valley.

Organizer John Nafziger noted that the event this year will be complete on pavement, so no worries bringing your classic rides out for the show.

The final list of stops will be provided on the day of the rally but Nafziger did say there will be fuel stops along the way.

Money raised through the rally will be going towards the Kids Cancer Society.

The pot will be split 50/50 between the winner and the society, second place will win $40, and third place will win $20.

After everyone is gathered in Big Valley, a party, car show and street dance in the community will be held. There will also be a dyno on hand!

A photographer specializing in vehicle photography will also be onsite to take photos of people and their rides.

The event is open to classic and custom cars, trucks, bikes, and big rigs,

According to Nafzigar, around 400 vehicles attended the previous rally and he is hoping for the same number, or more, this time around. For more information, he can be reached at 587-282-8273.
