A pair of community organizations are receiving funds from the Vision Credit Union Helping Hand Grant.
The Castor Curling Club and the Castor Child Care Society are two of 33 recipients of the 2023 grant and will be receiving a combined $7,000.
In total, the 33 groups receiving funding were selected for the grant from over 100 different organizations spread across the province.
According to the release that announced the grant recipients, “the Helping Hand Grant program offers up to $10,000 in funding to qualifying organizations for capital projects that benefit communities and the people who live there.”
The release continued that Vision Credit Union offers over $180,000 per year in grants to “qualifying organizations” in the 23 communities served by the banking institution.
The grants were evaluated based on their benefits and impact to people in the community and were reviewed by a special committee featuring the Vision Credit Union chief executive officer and board members.
“We were pleased by the interest in this program and impressed by the amazing work being done to further quality of life in our rural Alberta communities,” said Steve Friend, CEO of Vision Credit Union.
