A small group gathered on the grass beside the Castor Community Hall on Aug. 15th to have a tough conversation about systemic racism. The event featured presenters from Blackfalds and Calgary.

Ashley Cardinal attests that racism is real, citing a recent event in British Columbia where she described being the victim of racial profiling after asking to use the washroom in a business, and being denied. She explained the event in a now viral video that even caught the attention of mainstream media. She was one of several presenters in the conversation on racism held beside the Castor Community Hall on Aug. 15th.
