Shelly Pals, of the Castor/Halkirk Handivan Society, presents a cheque to Steve Laskey of Crestline, officially taking possession of the new community handibus on July 9th. The Society has been fundraising for a couple of years for the new vehicle, and when they come up short, a Castor couple who wish to remain anonymous wrote a cheque for the outstanding amount. In total, the new vehicle cost just over $174,000. Also in the picture are representatives from Castor’s Paintearth Lodge and several of the Society’s handibus drivers.
