Job-seekers, it is time to dust off your resumes!

The Stettler Regional Board of Trade (BOT) will be hosting its annual fall employment fair on Sept. 27.

Taking place in The Hub, upstairs at the Stettler Recreation Centre (SRC), the employment fair will bring together potential employers with employees.

“We’re hoping to have 20 employers there,” said Byron Geddes, the BOT executive director.

“It’s a good opportunity for employees who are wanting to upgrade their employers.”

According to Geddes, the BOT holds the job fairs at least twice a year, usually in May and September.

“They are very well received by employers,” said Geddes.

Job hunters are encouraged to bring their resumes down and leave them with the employers in attendance, some of which, in the past, have given on the spot interviews.

Geddes says that he would like to see more job hunters come out to the event, but that on average between 35 and 40 people do come out.

Heading into a busy fall

Aside from the job fair, the team at BOT have a busy couple months coming up.

Alberta Culture Days is running from Sept. 1 through 30 and will have many events on the go.

Some of the events planned so far include a cultural food tour with local restaurants incorporating their chosen cultures into specific dishes, an art exhibit at the Stettler Public Library, the ever popular Historic Ghost Walk, the Battle of the Borscht and much, much more.

There is a full listing of activities on the Stettler Regional Board of Trade website, www.stettlerboardoftrade.com.

Once the Culture Days are over, the BOT of trade will be gearing up for the Stettler awards Gala, which will be taking place in the later half of October.
