The Stettler Golf Course hosted a game of glo-ball on Friday, Aug. 11. The game had been originally scheduled a few weeks prior but was postponed due to weather.
This was the second game of the golf season; the first one was held in May. The course is planning on hosting another game in September, with the possibility of opening it up to kids as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
The balls used glow on impact with the ground and stay on for around eight minutes. Since the balls don’t travel as far, the tee boxes are moved up the fairway of each hole and each is marked with a light stick.
Each hole is marked with an LED light zip-tied to the flag pole and a ring light in the cup for players to work with.
The game had a shotgun start at 9:30 p.m. The format was ‘best ball,’ where all players take a shot but then gather their balls and shoot again from where the furthest shot stopped.
After nine holes, players enjoyed a light meal and prizes were awarded.
