Stettler man denied bail in Red Deer provincial court

Morley Savage faces firearms, theft charges

A Stettler man is being held in Red Deer Remand Centre on charges of robbery with a firearm, careless use of a firearm, and using a firearm in the commission of an offence.

Morley Roland Savage, 21, appeared in Red Deer court Jan. 7 and was denied bail again. Savage was arrested Dec. 13 by Lacombe Police Services Dec. 13 driving a stolen vehicle.

Savage was identified as the person involved in an armed robbery in Stettler on Dec. 10 at about 10:10 a.m. where he was given a ride and allegedly produced a firearm, told the victim to leave the area on foot and stole the vehicle. The victim wasn’t injured in the incident.

Savage reappears in Red Deer provincial court Jan. 14 to enter a plea and elect how he wants to be tried.
