Put on your glass slippers and head over to this year’s Princess Ball on March 14th for the most enchanting afternoon of the season, which will surely put smiles on your little princesses’ faces.

What’s more, the sixth annual event, from 1-4 p.m. at the Stettler Community Hall, is in support of a good cause — Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems, hits close to home for Stettler Princess Ball planning committee chair Linda Haner.

Her granddaughter was diagnosed with the disease about 18 years ago.

“We do find a lot of people donate in Stettler for this cause because they know people personally and this is our reason for doing this,” Haner said, noting that they hope to raise between $15,000 and $20,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Parents and their children will be greeted upon arrival at the event by Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and possibly Tinker Bell. Haner says the ballroom will be decorated with chandeliers and elaborate decor fit for princesses.

“It’s a beautiful thing for little kids,” Haner said. “To see their faces light up when they see their favourite princesses, it’s just phenomenal. We try to make this really special for for the kids.”

The event features a dance, a catered lunch, a silent auction, face painting, glitter tattoos, photography, crafts and other special performances. Tickets are $50 per person, or $650 for a VIP table of eight. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite under Princess Ball- Stettler.
