The first annual Stettler Home Show took place at the Stettler Agriplex over the weekend of Feb. 3-4.
Starting Friday evening and carrying through until Saturday afternoon, the event showcased local contractors and businesses that cater to homes and home owners.
The first evening of the event, one business remarked that the reception from the crowd seemed to be positive.
Saturday morning crowds were larger, with exhibitors feeling well received and enjoying the chance to speak with the smaller-scale crowds.
Stettler Regional Board of Trade (BOT) Executive Director Byron Geddes says that a few contractors who had signed on had to pull out before the event started due to scheduling conflicts.
Despite this, Geddes is happy with the first year and is hopeful it will be notably bigger next year.
“It’s a great way to showcase product,” said Geddes.
Geddes explains that the BOT really wanted to showcase local Stettler and area products and services.
In addition to the trade displays, the Home Show also featured hourly speakers.
Each hour a different contractor would take to the small stage at the end of the booths and give a brief presentation on the services they provide.
Many of the tables set up around the stage started to fill well in advance of the speakers.
“All in all, a very successful first year,” said Geddes.
In total, 16 vendors had booths at the show which was attended by several hundred area residents.
