Catherine was born November 2, 1924 in District of Pontypridd, Sub district of Rhondda, Wales and passed away on January 11, 2018 in Stettler, Alberta.
In 1928 she immigrated to Canada with her parents Charles and Mary Bowen and eight other children. She was raised in the Castor area and in 1948 married Robert Siebold eventually settling on the family farm south of Castor. She moved into town in 1981, to Red Deer in 1999 and finally to Stettler where she remained until her passing.
Catherine is survived by her daughters Linda (Charlie) Brenner, Judy (Doug) Stannard and her sons Earl (Alison) and Larry (Erin); 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother Stan (Alma) Bowen, brothers-in-law Don (Lyn) Siebold and Grant Baird and sisters-in-law: Helen Bowen, Ella-May Harper and Ellen Siebold; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert (1979), granddaughter-in-law-Solveig (1999) and grandson Jonathan (2010), five brothers, Charlie, Ivor, Bill, Hayden and Cyril Bowen, six sisters: Margaret Payne, Myfy Bowen, Susie Fuller, Marjorie Strome, Dilys Schaffner and Violet Baird.
Funeral services were held at Stettler Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ross Helgeton officiating. Family members Larry Siebold and Robert Siebold gave loving tributes and poems were read by Angie Roe and Mark Stannard; as well special music by Robbie Williams.
Interment took place in Castor Municipal Cemetery with Jason Brenner, Mark Stannard, Todd Stannard, Aaron Siebold, Robert Siebold, Phillip Siebold and Jordan Siebold as Pallbearers. Family and friends gathered in the Heartland Reception Centre for a time of fellowship and a luncheon by Goodkey Catering.
