In loving memory ~

It is with profound sadness that we inform you that Ethel Colleen Yakimowich, formerly of Castor, Alberta, passed away on March 2, 2024, in Grimshaw, Alberta at the age of 84 years.

Ethel will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her two children, daughter, Brenda (Tim) Gayton of Grimshaw, AB, son, Ken (Cindy) Yakimowich of Smoky Lake, AB, granddaughters, Sharla (Stefan) Gurba and Meagan (Blaine) Yakimowich and great grandsons, Bronson and Nash, many relatives and friends. Mike sadly passed away in 2017.

Ethel and Mike were active members of the Castor curling rink spending many evenings and weekends curling and attending bonspiels. Ethel was a volunteer, providing meals on wheels to the seniors in town and she helped with various functions at the United Church. It was a sad day for them when they moved to Lac La Biche in 1985, due to a work transfer for Mike.

In 1991, after Mike's retirement, they returned to Ethel's home-town roots of Wainwright, Alberta where she resided until 2022. In December of that same year, Ethel moved to Grimshaw, Alberta where she resided at Stonebrook Supportive Living until her passing.

Ethel was a wonderful Mom, Grandma and Friend. Family was her 1st priority. She always provided delicious home-cooked meals, goodies, a clean, safe and welcoming home. All important events were recognized and attended. Ethel lived a good life. She was kind, generous and loving. The lives of her family and friends are all brighter because she was a part of them.

Ethel was loved, powerfully and unconditionally and she will be, forever and ever and ever. Amen
