It is with a sad heart that I announce the passing of a great man, Robert Lawrence LaFreniere, better known as Dr. Rob; who passed away on Monday evening, December 13th, 2021, while at home with his family.
Dr. Rob was born on January 16th, 1968, in Castor, a small town in Alberta, Canada. His family owned a hardware store and he was the youngest of six; three boys and three girls.
On December 31st, 1993, he married the love of his life, Sharon, and they have two beautiful children together, Emma (23) and Laura (20); who meant the world to him.
He went to chiropractic school in Davenport, Iowa at Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated with honors in 1999. After graduation, they moved to Cheraw, SC for a year before setting up his practice in Hartsville. Dr. Rob loved being a chiropractor and took great joy in helping his patients. He loved it when a patient could barely walk in, but would leave with a spring in their step. He is best known for his sense of humor, his kindness, and his vast knowledge. He always wanted to go on Jeopardy, but his greatest fear was getting all art categories! His greatest joys in addition to his family were exploring, traveling, and obstacle races. He loved going places on the weekends and getting to know wherever we lived better and discovering hidden treasures. He also loved traveling and although he and his wife have been to many places, they had hoped to see the world together. Fortunately, they were able to do many obstacle races; including the Spartan Race, which he took great pride in completing.
His family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support over the last year and a half; as well as the last 20 years during his chiropractic career. It meant a great deal to him and his wife and he loved all his patients.
At the request of Dr. Rob, no services will be held.
