It was a celebration of music at the Castor Community Hall on Oct. 15.

Celebrating a century of music, the fundraising event was put on by the Castor and District Museum Society.

The planning for the event originally began pre-pandemic; unfortunately, when COVID-19 hit, the event, like nearly everything else in the world had to get put on hold.

With the world emerging from the pandemic-era restrictions, events such as these are making a return across the region.

“Old Times and Hard Times” featured a silent auction, a supper catered by Michelle Breum and her team and the musical portion of the evening featured the talents of Stettler’s Jazz Guys, Castor’s Mike Griffin, Anthony Holland, Stettler’s Tobi Vos and her son Jack Mayo.

Made up of donations by community businesses, the silent auction items took up one full wall of the main area of the Community Hall as well as one of the two side rooms.

Decor was borrowed from the museum, and featured a variety of posters, lamps, and even old newspapers spread around the room.

The sold-out event had around 22 tables of people who came out to enjoy the evening.
