March has flown by at Theresetta School; it’s hard to believe we are already at spring break!
Students are enjoying the annual sight of the return of the geese to Pals Park.
The month began with the completion of a very successful league and exhibition schedule for the junior high boys’ basketball team. They picked up wins in all but one game, as they headed into the C.A.R.A. (Clearview and Region Athletics) league championship tournament, which was held in Stettler on March 5.
Our boys placed second after being defeated by Brownfield in the final game. This qualified the team to attend the C.W.A.J.H.A.A. (Central Western Alberta Junior High Athletic Association) tournament, which was hosted by Gus Wetter School on March 11 and 12.
Our team won their first game against Caroline, and then lost to Destiny Christian School from Red Deer, who went on to win the tournament.
From there our group played in the bronze medal game, where we were defeated by Bentley School.

On Sunday, March 6, the junior high students, along with Mrs. Beaumont, Miss Hepp, Mr. Fetaz, and an awesome group of parents, boarded a bus bound for Canmore.
After checking into the hotel, the students spent their evening swooshing down the waterslide, splashing in the pool, sweating in the sauna, and straining in the weight room.
After an early Monday morning wake-up call, everyone boarded the bus to Lake Louise to enjoy a day on the slopes.
All students took a one hour lesson to start with, and then they were off!
After two full days of skiing, a very tired, but happy group arrived back in Castor on Tuesday evening at 9:30 p.m.
Thank you to Mrs. Beaumont for all the time and effort put into planning another successful trip.
The elementary students made Mrs. Kneller proud as they masterfully performed their songs for the Coronation Music Festival on March 10.
It was wonderful to be able to host spectators in our gym as the students earned one platinum and three gold certificates for their excellent performances. Thanks so much to all who attended.
March has definitely been a month of diverse weather, so it was especially timely for the grade 1-2 class to be studying temperature changes in science class.
On March 18, the little scientists could be seen clutching their clipboards as they observed and documented the changes in objects that experienced freezing, cooking, melting, and burning.
March has also seen the relaxation of some restrictions, which allowed for our junior high religion class to resume their visits to the Paintearth Lodge.
Along with general visiting, some students generously shared their piano talents with the residents.
On March 24, the last day of school before spring break, the grade 3-4 class hosted a cookie Bingo for the whole school.
This was one of our fundraising projects to be undertaken during the season of Lent, which is a time leading up to Easter when we focus on service to others.
The proceeds from the Bingo will go towards the Ukraine humanitarian crisis.
