Lovers of live music had the opportunity to check out some home-grown talent in Castor on Dec. 11 at Knox United Church.
Student’s of piano teacher Veronica Weber, with some adult help, performed Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with musical interludes spread in between.
“It seems that even the hard, cold heart of Scrooge, played by Edward Ries, will melt after listening to the beautiful piano music,” writes Weber.
Weber’s students, ranging in age from Kindergarten to Grade 12, performed a variety of Christmas pieces as Ries’ Scrooge was paid a visit by the three ghosts.
“Students and parents from Castor and Coronation joined forces to entertain a full house,” continues Weber.
According to Weber, the play was acted out by with a cast of seven while students “performed appropriate selections between.”
The fall recital is somewhat of a tradition in Castor and typically features a large number of students from around Paintearth County.
