Castor’s Percy Farebrother won a gold medal in the 85 plus Men’s Golf at the Canada 55 plus Games held in August in Saint John, New Brunswick. Saint John hosted 1,869 participants from 12 provinces and territories. Alberta was one medal behind Ontario in most medals won but holds the distinction of winning the most gold medals with 83 over Ontario’s 70.5. Kamloops, B.C. was named the host community of the 2020 Canada 55 plus Games, and the qualifiers to attend these are the Alberta 55 plus Winter Games in Cold Lake Feb. 28 - March 3, 2019, and the Alberta 55 plus Summer Games being held in Medicine Hat July 4 - 7, 2019.
