The members of the Coronation RCMP detachment have made an arrest regarding a recent break and enter of the Coronation Value Drug Mart.

Members were called out on June 2 and two youth were identified in the investigation.

Stolen items included prescription and non-prescription drugs, watches and other items which were subsequently recovered.

As both suspects are youth offenders, the names are not being released.

Both youth have been charged with: break and enter to a business, theft under $5,000, mischief damage to property, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The youth have a court appearance on June 10 in Coronation Provincial Court after having been released by a Justice of the Peace without conditions.

“In a small community, the problems associated with property related crimes are amplified,” wrote Corporal Troy Savinkoff, a central Alberta media relations officer.

“As part of our Rural Crime Reduction Strategy we encourage members of the public/business to report suspicious activity.”

Anyone wishing to report crime or suspicious activity within Paintearth County can contact the Coronation RCMP detachment at 403-578-3666, anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or via the p3tips app available on both Apple and Android. In the case of emergency, call 911.
