With conditions remaining dry and forecasts not providing much in the way of relief, the County of Paintearth has implemented an immediate fire restriction.
Only permitted fires will be allowed during the period of the restriction; currently permits are only being issued for April 10-14, with no extensions to be granted.
The county is requesting that previous permit holders should check burn sites to ensure all fires, including hotspots, are extinguished.
Further restrictions or bans being implemented in the future will be dependent on future weather conditions.
