UPDATE —
The scene of a serious multi-vehicle collision that took place on Highway 814 and Township Road 472 Thursday has been officially cleared by Wetaskiwin RCMP and emergency services.
The preliminary investigation into the accident by Wetaskiwin RCMP indicates that a pickup truck was heading southbound on Highway 814 when it crossed into the lane of oncoming traffic in the area of Township Road 462 and collided with a northbound travelling SUV.
The driver and passenger of the SUV were declared deceased at the scene. The rear passenger of the SUV was taken to an Edmonton hospital by STARS Air Ambulance with serious injuries.
The driver and passenger of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries and were taken by ambulance to an Edmonton area hospital.
Wetaskiwin RCMP and the RCMP Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate this fatality.

Original Story — Wetaskiwin RCMP and EMS are currently on scene of a serious two vehicle collision on Highway 814 and Township Road 472, between Millet and Wetaskiwin.
RCMP are reporting multiple serious life-threatening injuries and the traffic on Highway 814 in both directions will be affected for several hours.
Officers on scene continue to investigate the collision and emergency crews are cleaning the scene.
